Kleinwalsertal is a valley in Vorarlberg, in western Austria and on the border with Germany (Oberstdorf). The villages of Riezlern, Hirschegg, Mittelberg and Baad together make up the 15 km long valley. The villages are surrounded by impressive mountain peaks and lushes green mountain meadows. It's not for nothing that this area is named "the most beautiful corner of the world."
Kleinwalsertal was first settled around the 13th century by the Walsers, immigrants from the Swiss Valais. Despite its unique location, Kleinwalsertal is very popular for tourists all year round.

A hike in the Kleinwalsertal area means a hike between 1100 and 2500 meters. There are many quiet and easy routes in the valley to chose from, however there are also challenging hikes for those who prefer something harder. Kleinwalsertal offers you around 200 kilometers of well-marked hiking trails for all levels of difficulty.

Kleinwalsertal is a great destination for families with children of all ages. Under the guidance of the mascot Burmi, the marmot, which is also called Burmenta by the locals, the little ones are introduced to the mountains and nature. For example, visiting the climbing park and the summer toboggan run on Söllereck. Everyone can also cool down on warm days at Riezlern outdoor pool, on the Schwarzwasserbach and right near the border in Germany there is the Freibergsee.
